TOPIC: Skype refresher for Windows 7 & 8

MAIN POINTS:

Sending live pictures and talking to people OS.

Skype name is a nickname not an email address. Plus a password.
The name is set up when you install skype. If you want to create a new one then hit xxx and create an account.

After you sign in you can test your video and audio settings by clicking Echo / Sound Test Service

You can change your ring tone in Skype options and sounds. You can adjust the video settings with webcam settings and change your profile picture.

Drop down next to name to set you availability

Contacts
Recent - Shows who you have accepted calls or messages from
Search allows you find other contacts and you need to request to be added

To call someone choose a contact and press Video Call

See who is currently online. An empty cloud means they are not contactable, a tick means they are.


You can subscribe and use Skype  as a telephone.
