Photo Cropping Feb 25 2015

Depending on your version of Windows

Windows 7
  • Open Windows Live Photo Gallery
  • Double click to open photo
  • Follow the steps below

Windows 8
  • Has no photo program - bad luck - upgrade to 8.1

Windows 8.1
  • Open Windows Photo Gallery 2012
  • Double click on a photo to open it

Cropping Tool

When you click the cropping tool you will see a grid appear in front of your photo.

You will also see your cursor shaped like a cross(above)
This will allow you to move the grid around the photo to select the part you want to keep.

You can adjust the size of the grid by hovering over one of the squares on the grid border. When you see the double arrow heads left-click your mouse to resize in or out.

Once you have the grid positioned how you want it, click the Crop tool button again and everything outside the grid will vanish.

When you close the picture your changes will be saved. If you made a mistake use the UNDO button or CTRL+Z.
